About Women’s Life Link

Picture a chain.  Now, pretend that each link is a woman.  Some are strong; some are weak; and some are in the middle.  A strong chain can pull tons of weight; it can uphold; it can support; and it can simply be beautiful if it’s made of precious metal.  If the saying “you are only as strong as your weakest link” is true, guess what?  We have a big job ahead of us.  Women need women.  I need you and you need me.  Period.

A woman’s life journey should be magical and full of love, strength, health, and creativity.  It is our goal to help you find all of the above one link (woman) at a time.

Kellie Stone (The Journey Coach)

“Nothing in life worth having comes easily,” my seventh grade English teacher wrote in her perfect handwriting on the first page of my yearbook.  I have never forgotten her simple but profound words.  Because my 43 years on this earth have proven the quote to be undeniably true time and time again, I have collected an abundance of great stories and solid advice for other women who might be wondering how to enrich their lives through the good, bad, and the hideously ugly.

You might say I’m one of those people who search for the answers to life’s questions simply to satisfy my own need to be informed and to become a well-rounded woman who just might be able to help someone else.  At times it’s difficult to accept that the answers may not be there…at least for the time being.  I do strongly believe that the time I’ve spent getting to know myself has kept me stable and of some use on the planet.  Hopefully, my family thinks so.

Speaking of children, my sixth was born 6/2/08.  It’s been eleven years since I’ve had a baby in the house.  You better believe it’s interesting around here!  On the other end of the age span of my offspring, two of my daughters are grown and have left the nest; complete success stories there.  My oldest daughter is married and serving our country in the U.S. Navy, and the other is spoken for with marriage plans down the road and looking forward to a career in cosmetology.  Thank God I did something right.

In the middle, the other two girls are teens wishing their little brother, who is currently 12, would depart for an extended vacation to anywhere far away and remote enough that no modern communication would be possible.  God love them…  They’re all strait A students (most of the time) and don’t have a clue what the interior of the principal’s office looks like.  I couldn’t be prouder of them.

I often find myself giving into the endless tasks that take me away from the four things that I am most passionate about, writing, music, helping others, and my family.  But, I suppose if I never cleaned the house or did my crunches, I might lose all self-respect.  I have set goals, however, to overcome and annihilate these distractions.

God has blessed me with the passion to write and to help others who might be willing to listen to what I have to say. I’m a real person with real ideas and issues of my own.  I’ve been around the proverbial block a few times, at least enough to share a sketchy map of how and where I’ve traveled.  I hope you find my posts, if nothing else, relatable, and maybe a little amusing.  Be well.

Donna Martelli (The Graceful Trainer)

donna-fitnessMy decision to become a Certified Personal Trainer came as my interest in fitness and feeling good grew out of my own life experiences. I have always been a “fit” person as I have been a professional ballet dancer and instructor for many years. I currently have all ages and levels of students in ballet, modern dance and praise dance (combination of techniques). I direct and dance with The Beautiful Feet Dance Ministry.

I have spent many years studying how the body works in order to assist my students and am accustomed to working with each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Choreography is like breathing to me! I have choreographed hundreds of dances. I have taught aerobics and have done strength training seriously.

Several years ago, through ignorance and bad choices, I went through a period of depression. After trying all kinds of medications, I decided to go another route. After much prayer, I began a quest to feel good and studied and developed an exercise program for myself that took care of that problem!  My heart goes out to people who are overweight, tired and depressed like I was.  I want to help them to look, feel and BE their absolute best. Hence Beautiful Bodies Fitness was born.

Training that I offer goes beyond merely physical. We are triune beings (body, mind and spirit) and each part of us affects the other two parts. All three parts work together and a problem in one will create problems in another. For example, mental stress may cause a headache! We all know about that one! As an IPT I address the complete person. Additionally I am on staff at The Lamse Wellness Clinic where I consult with Dr. Anca Lamse regarding the needs of my clients.

My certification as a Personal Trainer is with AFTA (American Fitness Training of Athletics). I am also a Certified Pilates Instructor with AMFPT. (American Muscle and Fitness Personal Training.) I have completed CPR and Basic First Aid Training.

Jeffrie Ann Hall (The Beautifier)

Me & CassidyI am an Esthetician and a Pilates Personal Trainer. First, came the career in the salon/spa industry. I started out in California, my home state, in the city of San Diego. I was self employed and provided services, such as, manicures, pedicures, waxing and make-up. Over time I developed a real interest in the skin, as I got up close and personal with so many women, especially when doing make-up. No one seemed to be happy with the condition of their skin and/or the signs of aging. So becoming an Esthetician was my next step. I was trained at the Aveda Institute In Minneapolis, MN.

Another area of interest to me is fitness. I have always been a member of some gym, training in the weight room and doing my cardio. I loved the usual routine. But I noticed that all the years of bending over a facial bed had left me with postural issues and low back pain.

After a move across country to Connecticut, I joined another gym and learned about Pilates. I started out in Pilates Mat classes. I then found another facility that offered Pilates on the Reformer, Cadillac, and Stability Chair. So I tried it. Guess what? After a very short period of time I found that I was standing straighter, my body had a lifted appearance and…NO MORE BACK PAIN!! I was hooked. So off I went to the Physical Mind Institute of NY. I became a certified Pilates Instructor. I have continued my education in Pilates with the Balanced Body University.

I never lost my interest in skin care, and particularly in anti-aging. After all, I am a Baby Boomer. And as we all know, Baby Boomers do not want to get old, much less look it! So I decided to continue with my work in skin care when I found a revolutionary product and technology for treating, reversing, and preventing the signs of aging. In addition to teaching Pilates, I am a distributor for an anti-aging skin care line that is simply unbelievable - real results, real technology, right up my alley!
