I wanted to help a fellow blogger celebrate the birthday-anniversary of a man who has touched and inspired many around the world. Henry David Thoreau, born July 12, 1817 in Concord, Massachusetts, was an American author, poet, abolitionist, naturalist, and life-changing philosopher. I personally have been moved by some of his quotes over the years, even to the point of acting on his suggestions. Henry would be proud of those who have found peace and success through reading words that he penned 150 years ago. That is one of the reasons I love the written word so much. When preserved, it can impact readers far longer than it authors can live. Enjoy some great reading about Thoreau at the Thumbing Through Thoreau Web site!
”Words do not lose their truth by time or misinterpretation, but stand unscathed longer than he who spoke them.”

Happy birthday, Henry David Thoreau! Thank you for your contribution to the world.
Be well-be beautiful-be happy.
