• Fashion Dos and Don’ts

    1.  Do invest in a great, leather briefcase if you are a businesswoman.  The one pictured is pricey but will definitely make an impression.  Pratesi Cimabue Women’s Double Gusset Italian Briefcase, available at Paula’s Leather, $375.  I want it for myself!

    2.  Don’t smoke; cigarettes never look good with anything you wear.  Not to mention how they makes you smell.

    3.  Do embrace the element of unpredictability.  Keep them guessing what you will wear next.

    4.  Do sport t-shirts or jewelry that promote good causes like breast cancer awareness or environmental issues.  I found some cool items at Zazzle.com.  Just don’t wear a fanny pack with them.

    5.  Do look in vintage stores for original chunky bangles.  We are seeing the runway models adorned with everything from metals to bright plastics.  Go big or stay at home!

    6.  Don’t pass up your chance to get back to your hippie roots.  Just one item with leather fringe or a well-placed peace sign will show them you are one cool chick.  Remember to keep this one age appropriate.

    7.  Do change your hair with the seasons, even if it is just a fresh highlight job.  Your hairstylist can give you tips on how to keep it versatile.

    8.  Don’t hide  toned arms under sleeves.  Show them off with sleeveless or halter cut tops.  I have broad shoulders and fairly well-developed delts and biceps.  My best cuts are ones that show off that area.

    9.  Do wear clothing that compliments your home decor when you host a party.  I know it sounds silly, but guests feel more comfortable and welcome when things around them are harmonious.

    10.  Do spice up your accessory dog’s wardrobe with some puppy glam at  Just Pucci.
