Fortunate Friday: New Friends

Since I started this blog back in March, I have learned how quickly that you can go from being scared of the Word Press Dashboard to whizzing around it like a Cirque Du Soliel aerialist.  Another thing that magically happens is making new web friends – the topic of this Fortunate Friday (a new column for Fridays that talks about the fortunes of blogging).

My Life Links

The women I’ve met over the past few months are those whom I will likely be friends with for life.  Considering how hard it is to meet quality people in the real world, my jackpot in the digital one is nothing short of miraculous.  I guess the “law of attraction” is really working for me.  Allow me to share just a few key points about these spectacular ladies.  If you are not mentioned in this first post, it’s not because I don’t consider you a friend; it’s more the excessive word count issue that my SEO guy keeps harping at me about.

“We take care of our health, we lay up money, we make our roof tight and our clothing sufficient, but who provides wisely that he shall not be wanting the best property of all — friends?”

˜Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dafna – A true adventurer who won’t stop until she really does change the world.  With her energy, she just might change the universe.  I love the fact that inspite of fears and lack of financing, she took the chance and went on her 50 in 52 Journey.  She and I instantly appreciated each other.  A new inspiring friend.

Suzanne – She has the mind of a philosopher.  Her site, Without Dash, is one of the blogs that I read every day.  Her intuitive and helpful articles have brought greater understanding into my life.  I am fortunate to have met her.  I am featured over there with a guest post A Woman’s Mind; check it out and read some of Suzanne’s powerful posts while you are there.

Genny – A woman’s woman.  She is the centered one who attracts the crowd just by opening her mouth, or in the case of blogging, typing a sentence.  I appreciate that she is always honest, true, and dedicated.  I wish her the best in every thing that she does.  Keep filling our cups!

Sonya – She’s a writing mom – an instant attraction.  Though I haven’t known her for long, we seem to understand each other.  I think she’s one of those “find a way to get it done” people that you can count one.  She also featured an article of mine called Writing With Children on her blog sonyafeher.com.  I’m currently waiting for one of hers to post on WLL.

“Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God’s best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one’s self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another.”

˜Thomas Hughes

Priya – She took the health challenge that I started a few weeks back and keeps me updated on her progress.  Like me, she’s not perfect but understands the importance of trying.  I only wish she would post more random thoughts.

Stephanie – She had me at “Fringe is my favorite new show.”  She keeps me up-to-date on good home, baby, and mom oriented products on her Metropolitan Mama blog.  A friend I’m glad is on my blog roll.

Jeffrie – And then there’s my Jeffrie…I put her last like Dorothy did the Scarecrow in the sad goodbye scene in The Wizard of Oz (I’m not saying goodbye though- just an analogy.  She’s been the closest friend and support to me over the past month or so.  A true beautiful woman whom I’m proud to know.

I think that I will do another “New Friends” article for next week’s Fortunate Friday; it feels good to be thankful for the people in my life. Tell us about a phenomenal person you’ve met via the web.   Also, if you are interested in guest posting for this column, please contact us.  Be well-be beautiful.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
