Rebel Mind Control

I refuse3“One important thing happens when I have my mind under control: I suddenly stop thinking about and using the option of quitting my dreams and the activities that bring Payoff. A steadfast and bold new me emerges- a woman who follows through and does not take no for an answer.” ~Kellie R. Stone from The Butterfly Payoff

Women are creatures of habit. We tend to get stuck on autopilot much of the time. The positioning gets comfortable and our thoughts are familiar. It seems to work well enough there that we put down roots like a mighty oak. Unfortunately, that camp usually is due to fear, negative thoughts, feelings of inadequacy, and ignoring the sense that there is more to life. Well, guess what?  The problem isn’t that we comfortably rest under the shade of a tree, it is when we decide to stay there with the excuses, fears, and debilitating thoughts. This can happen to anyone. “I will wait another year before I really start getting out there and meeting new people.” or “My art is just fine living on my living room wall.” or “I want to work out, but I just don’t have the energy and time anymore.” Time to rebel against that shit and get your mind under control!

Rebel mind control is not about being perfect or imitating someone else. It’s you showing up in all your unfiltered magnificence! This process starts in the mind. Who are you? What do you really want? What thoughts and beliefs are holding you back? Until you get your brain train back in the station and all shined up, you will continue to go into those creepy dark tunnels of blame and despair. This doesn’t always look all doom and gloom either. It can be subtle and sneak up on you like a spider in your sleep (did you just cringe? Yeah, it’s like that.)

Rebel Remedy for Dark Tunnels and Creepy Spiders…love my metaphors.

  1. Calm yourself just a tad. Get in control of your emotions long enough to really figure out what’s going on inside.
  2. Think about times when you felt more balanced. What things were you doing? What things did you focus on?
  3. Get clear that tomorrow is a new day. You can change. You can win. You can do something different.
  4. If things feel really comfortable, that may be a sign that it’s time to stir the pot.
  5. Fear can be a sign that you have an opportunity before you- one that will change things and possibly be the catalyst to getting what you want. Don’t cast it down as something bad and to avoid. Process it. Embrace it. Walk through it.
  6. Give yourself some credit for coming this far in your life. Remind yourself that this isn’t your first rodeo. Change and self-development are all a part of the life package.
  7. Stop yourself dead in your own tracks if you get entangled in self-defeating mind chatter. No scolding, though. Breathe. Replace the thoughts with champion ideas like, “I am a winner. I move mountains. I am. I am smart. I have all that I need to accomplish all that I want. The universe has my back. Nothing stops me from fulfilling my dreams.”

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
