Collagen Replacement: Is It Really Working?

I have some news for you, ladies. The other day a friend showed me a new moisturizer she had just spent a fortune on. She was so happy about it and wanted my opinion....so I looked at the ingredient list. And, I am sorry to say, I had to tell her that this collagen boosting promise the product was claiming was completely false! The product contained nothing that would actually help her skin to regain lost collagen. She had merely purchased an expensive moisturizer with no real anti-aging benefits!

No Surgery Face Lifts: Part V

Ladies, here it is. I'm going to give you this information with a sincere hope that you believe it is real. Recently, I was told that there is technology coming as soon as early January 2010 that will change the anti-aging market as we know it. Part of it is already on the market through the 25-year-old company Nu Skin.

No Surgery Face Lifts: Part IV

The search for the fountain of youth is never ending. Unfortunately, our flow of expendable cash for the quest is not...at least mine isn't. I do believe in quality, however. Skimping on skin care and anti-aging is not an option for me as I care a great deal about my body. Having said that, I don't mean that I will spend food money on products or services either. There is a balance that must come when investing in your health and beauty.

No Surgery Face Lifts: Part III

I don't think there is a woman out there who really wants to get her face cut and sewn up by anyone. Fortunately, that is why there are so many alternatives to the three "P's" (Plastic Surgery, Pain, and Price). Some may be better on the pocket book and have much less pain involved but are they all that they're cracked up to be. Let's take a look at one such procedure that has gotten mixed reviews.

No Surgery Face Lifts: Part II

For the second part of our series on "no surgery face lifts," I want to share with you a completely natural way in which to get back a youthful, fit face. When I was little, my mother used do these facial exercises that made me laugh at her because of the funny expressions that she would make. I'd ask, "Mommy, what are you doing?"

Nose Job: My Plastic Surgery Fantasy

With the "no surgery face lift" series this week, I thought I would ask you ladies what you would change about your faces if you could. Please share your wish list with us. Personally, I would change the width of my nose. A little more definition (less point) and a narrower bridge would be great. However, it's not bad enough for me to actually get surgery. I'm sort of a chicken, and I don't like the idea of someone hacking on my face. Now, if I ever broke my nose, that would be different.

No Surgery Face Lifts: Part I

This week we will be focusing on our "mugs". That's right, our faces. We are going to take a look at some things you can do for the gal that's staring back at you in the mirror. Some of these techniques are down home remedies; some are a little more sophisticated; and some are so high tech that you will barely believe they are possible until you try them.

Beautiful Skin: One Doctor’s “Inside” Secrets Revealed

When we look into the eyes of another, surely we are looking at the soul of the one standing directly in front of us – or are we? It is difficult for many to get past the physical to gaze any further. We have become a visual society, judging according to our cultural beliefs. We perceive the outside to be an extension of the inside, whether it is health or beauty.

Healthy Fashion

Although the terms "health" and "fashion" may not be commonly used together right now, I believe we will soon see a deluge of "organic/healthy" clothing and accessories that takes us to a new era of living healthy and looking great while doing it. Since I'd like to see every woman consider the "Be Well-Be Beautiful" concept as a lifestyle, I thought we could take a look at some of the products that are currently offered in the market.

Age, Beauty, and Health

I am reminded every day of my age by looking in the mirror, remembering my oldest daughter's is 24, and by the wisdom (and trivia) that I have acquired over the years. I'm not going to write about mid-life crises or anything like that. On the contrary, I believe that neither your state of health nor your beauty should have one iota to do with the number of years you've been on the planet; unless, of course, they are better because you have made a few more mistakes and learned from them.

Sun Damage Awareness

I know that I have done at least one post about the importance of protecting your skin from the sun's damaging UV rays; however, I can't resist doing another as I keep witnessing those around me get horrible burnt - one person in particular - my son. Though his fried shoulders were a result of a complete misunderstanding between the two of us; I still felt like the world's worst mother for not making sure he was covered.

The Importance of Good Posture

I was thinking about how many women don't reach their body's beauty potential because of poor posture. I have been guilty of this horrible laziness for most of my life. However, I do check myself when I feel that the old habits have returned. Unfortunately, I also see my daughters falling prey to the same chronic slouching. I'm always telling them to stand up straight - I just get rolling eyes and an "oh, Mom." But, did I listen to my mother when she harped at me over the same thing? NO. So, here I am today with problems...just ask my chiropractor.

Deep Breathing: A Beautiful Thing

Deep Breathing is one of those things that makes you think of meditation, yoga, and, in my case, childbirth. You really have to consider why we do it when 1.) we need to relax; 2.) we need to perform physically; and 3.) we need to clear our minds. Hmmm...maybe there is something to this ancient ritual that has been practiced by nearly every culture on the planet.
