Introspective Sunday

Holding On and Letting Go

As women we inevitably face choices. Ones that are hard and ones that require little thought, if any at all - life's opportunities. We either have the opportunity to change something or allow it to remain the same.

What Is My Purpose?

Introspective Sunday: What Is My Purpose? Ooh...this is a loaded question and is likely one of the most important ones you can ever ask yourself. With various shoes to fill, women can become extremely busy meeting the needs of others; even though we willingly enter into many different ventures, tasks and jobs, are we truly fulfilling our life purposes within the mayhem?

Am I Selfish?

Introspective Sunday: Am I selfish? There is one problem with this question...that is if you actually are selfish. Most people who are self-centered won't even entertain the thought that they have "it's all about me" syndrome, at least until they have a revelation.

Am I A Good Friend?

For some making friends (and keeping them) comes easily, and for others it seems to be a daunting chore that never seems to happen. Today, I was thinking about all of the people in my life whom I consider to be my friends, how we met, and how we continue to grow (or not) in our relationships. Have I been a good friend? Yes and no...nobody is perfect.

Liberation

Liberation: Posing Nude, Shaving Your Head, and Skinny Dipping What makes a woman feel free? Breaking Cycles

Making Decisions

Today's topic is one with which many have trouble - on a daily basis. It is making decisions and acting upon them. I, for one, am one of those who don't find making some decisions to be pleasant; therefore, I avoid them. When I say this, I don't mean your every day ones like which breakfast cereal to buy or what shoes should I wear today; no, the ones I speak of are much more life-changing and some can even be hazardous or painful.

Discouragement and Frustration: You Can Overcome Them

Women, especially, experience these troubling emotions when they see the ones they love hurting or in trouble. Our natural instinct to nurture and protect can be overwhelming; we are left wondering why no one sees our undying effort to make things better - can't they just stop screwing up already? And, when we can't change things quickly enough, it puts us into a heightened sense of frustration; I believe this is called motherhood or PMS.

What Are My Dreams Trying to Tell Me?

Today. I want to talk about dreams. Everyone has them, whether you remember them or not. Sometimes they are whimsical and fun; sometimes they are dark and frightening. Either way, the motion pictures we get to watch while we're asleep often can be trying to tell us something important about ourselves.

The Events of Our Lives

"The events in our lives happen in a sequence in time, but in their significance to ourselves, they find their own order...the continuous thread of revelation." -Eudora Welty
