Birthing Books, Babies, and Bootin’ One Out

I love the feeling of starting new projects.  That’s likely the reason why I do it so often…even if I shouldn’t.  My latest endeavor is a new non-fiction book entitled, Your Best Journey: For Women.  It is the first of a series that I plan on doing over the next year.  I’ve found the process a heck of a lot easier than writing fiction.  It’s flowing like the Mississippi right now; I’m not complaining one bit.  In fact, I’m so thankful this one is not mocking me from the pages, telling me that I’ll never finish it like my novel has.

With my health improving, I have high hopes of finishing at least three of the short self-help books by the end of the summer.  I haven’t decided in which direction to go as far as publishing.  With the increased popularity of e-books and Kindle, I wonder if those might be viable options as opposed to traditional hard copy.   I’d love any advice you could give on the subject.

Speaking of my novel, Unaware (a thirty-five-year-old still living with its mama) is in the final, final edit and will likely be ready to submit by the middle of May.  It’s exciting to be taking the next step with the completion of a long project…over two years in the making.  Of course, I did have a baby sometime in the middle of it.  I’m not sure what’s next or how it will be received, but I’m ready to find out.

In other writing news, I’ve been asked to submit my six birth stories to a new friend, Kelli, at birthstoriesondemand.com who is working on her second book in a series.  I know I can detail the last birth, but I’m wondering how I will do with my first which occurred over twenty-five years ago.  I’m thinking hypnosis might be in order to bring that one to life. It’s not like I have anyone to ask; my ex-husband would likely laugh in my face if I asked him to recall the details.   All I remember is the epidural didn’t’ take effect until after she was born.  Getting to the bathroom was impossible with numb legs.

That’s all the news I have for now.  By the way, don’t you just love the birthing poppy photo I found?  I thought it was quite fitting to represent my new project.  I will talk to you on Sunday.

About Kellie R. Stone

I believe that every woman has passions and dreams, waiting to be unlocked. With encouragement and support, they could grow into something tangible no matter how out there they seem to be. For me, one of those heart-fluttering passions has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, cultivate my dream of being a writer, I've written and/or edited 15+ years worth of articles here or on other blogs, published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and am working on a poetry anthology and another women's inner journey book. I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do it through the written word or other vibrant means. Kellie R. Stone
