The Ebb And Flow Journey

The Ebb and Flow Journey with Kellie Rae will eventually be its own blog and place for video, but that’s for another day, my friends. I did well to create this graphic and the first few inaugural posts.

***For those of you who know me, my life has been challenging with multiple illnesses hanging around and getting attention. Because of this ‘interesting’ life, I’ve learned to listen more carefully and process the loud origins of my challenges, instead of ignoring them. It’s never easy to face the ugly monsters (in costume) that believe they will be in control forever. But what they don’t know is that their days are numbered. What they really represent is a lost child who needs all of YOU (ME) to show up… more on this in the coming days, and when I say, Do It for YOU, I mean it!

It’s almost as though I have uncontrollable control over my symptoms. If I think positively and have goals, I feel better and stronger. I recognized one minute I’m in a bog, stuggling to get to the bathroom, the next it’s full-steam ahead with a new idea or sketch of a plan. That’s The Ebb and Flow Journey in a nutshell. Up and down, in and out, judging whether its good or bad took over my thought life, but being real is the point to this whole thing.

I want everything to be smooth and make sense to others, but reality has me scrambling to get to a safe place only to second-guess my intentions and actions. Can anyone relate? I hope so with all that past tattered glory I hang onto. You see, I spent years working with women who wanted better lives…you know who you are.  I know that dream is still there for me and many of you, but life gets in the way and we have new things to handle.
Illness has been my screeching brake, the cut scene, and downright controller of my life for a long time. Let me spell that out another way… I let it control me. Damn…or stronger words, if you prefer!
But, you know what? It’s OK to not be OK anytime it happens. What matters is what you (I) do next and how we move forward. Ebb and Flow is natural and all throughout nature. You’ll see it if you look carefully for it. Though being in a bog can be scary and feel like you’re not getting anywhere, the opposite- called progress- is happening.
Remember, transformation happens when we try.
Life opens when we try.
We learn and grow when we try.
Failure happens when we quit trying. It could be that the right plan and purpose haven’t shown up yet. Or, maybe, it’s about having the right people by your side or at your back. This complex thought is in my mind constantly.

Keep Trying

***Have you ever been unaware of something and oblivious of its effects…then you become aware and all hell breaks loose? My husband found one of the exposed walls in our rental is making the corner I’m in cold as hell. Ummmm, I wasnt aware, so I didnt feel it. Now, I’m freezing and cant get warm. The brain is so powerful that it can hide and reveal information to us instantly…The Ebb and Flow Journey humans live every minute of every day.

Constantly Constant

***It’s been another Ebb day with symptoms screaming. But…I’m doing stuff anyway even though it’s hard! A huge part of balancing perfectionism (for the chronically ill) is being OK with being uncomfortable and not at your best. If you can imagine being a writer and losing the ability to type and spell efficiently, you’ll come close to understanding my mind-boggling predicament that often resembles a clown, trying to juggle too many balls at once. So, I will call this day (the flow in the ebb), as I’m being the me who doesn’t give up! Please share in the comments, and tell us part of your story!

Never Give Up!

About Kellie R. Stone

I believe that every woman has passions and dreams, waiting to be unlocked. With encouragement and support, they could grow into something tangible no matter how out there they seem to be. For me, one of those heart-fluttering passions has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, cultivate my dream of being a writer, I've written and/or edited 15+ years worth of articles here or on other blogs, published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and am working on a poetry anthology and another women's inner journey book. I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do it through the written word or other vibrant means. Kellie R. Stone
