5 Secrets To Life-Fulfillment And Success During Adversity

We all know that life can be challenging at times. Though we can’t control some things, we can change how we react to adversity. And, truthfully, this may be the very thing that helps you to get through tough times.  A part of that “reaction” is avoiding worry and self-doubt. I’m presently going through some trying times in my family. Everything I say right now is being filtered through a real-time situation.  Try to stay positive and remain confident, especially when you’re emotions are compromised. Yeah, I know, it’s not easy. Sometimes, we just need a reminder and some information. Here are my 5 secrets to life-fulfillment and success during adversity.

Life-Fulfillment And Success During Adversity #1: Be Proactive

Any success in life starts with understanding what that actually means to you.  Set goals for what you want to see yourself accomplish, so you have direction. Sitting on the couch wishing your life were different isn’t going to help you develop and grow as an individual. Take accountability for designing the kind of life you always pictured yourself living and continue to fight for what you want.

Life-Fulfillment And Success During Adversity #2: Take Care of Yourself

It’s in your best interest to take care of yourself both physically and emotionally. For instance, exercise regularly, eat healthily and get plenty of sleep each night. If something is too much for you, ask for help. You’re more likely to reach your goals when you feel energized and on top of things. Losing control of your health, on top of whatever adversity is hovering, will not help you. Try not to turn to vices for stress management either. If you smoke, consider switching to a vape pen instead. Learn more about various ways to curb addictions and change your behavior.

Life-Fulfillment And Success During Adversity #3: Have A Little Fun

Though serious things may be happening, you still deserve a break. Be willing to laugh at yourself and put a smile on your face even in the face of adversity. Remember, you are not the only one going through tough times. Be kind to yourself by doing something that makes you happy. Even if it’s a simple thing like listening to music or drawing a picture. Take breaks from your daily responsibilities by going on a vacation or spending some quiet time alone so you can refresh.

Life-Fulfillment And Success During Adversity #4: Maintain A Positive Attitude

Believe it or not, your attitude has a major impact on how your life plays out and what you’ll achieve. Maintaining an optimistic outlook helps you to walk through adversity with the knowledge that it will pass. Monitor your self-talk and make certain that you’re lifting yourself up. Remember, there are other opportunities out there for you that may fulfill you even more. Pay attention to all that’s going right in your life and be grateful.

Life-Fulfillment And Success During Adversity #5: Find Balance

One of the most important things you can ever do is finding balance in the various aspects of your life. Make a point to work hard but also know your limits and recognize when it’s time to step back. While your career matters, so does your happiness. This means finding time for hobbies, relationships, and self-care. It’s up to you to determine the amount of rest, work and play you need to live a life you find fulfilling instead of overbearing.

This thing called life is not always an easy journey, but it’s your life and well worth figuring out how to be fulfilled and successful even in difficult times. Celebrate small successes along the way and be proud of yourself for maintaining your focus and working hard.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
