3 Smart Career Choices For Compassionate Women

Though most women have some compassion and caring ability, there are those who excel at it. These are the women who would do anything for anyone at any time. Not only that, they love it and never complain. Does this sound like you? If so, you might find yourself doing things for others and never accepting a dime for it. Though this is OK in some cases, it might be time to seek a job caring or helping other people. This would not only fulfill your innate need to serve but also pay your bills. Let’s talk about some smart career choices for compassionate women, shall we?

Career Choices for Compassionate Women #1: Nursing

One of the first roles that people think of is nursing when it comes to care and compassion. Nurses need to be calm, compassionate, caring, well-spoken, detail-oriented, and intelligent. Now, add a deep desire to help others even when they may not be nice or even what we would consider good people. They can’t have bias or prejudice and need to believe everyone deserves to receive care. Let’s face it, not everyone could handle this type of responsibility and still keep a smile on her face.

If you are a solid woman who loves a challenge, consider what you can do with a nursing degree and an opportunity to make money serving your community in this way. Furthermore, you could specialize in an area that you are passionate about or find interesting.

Career Choices for Compassionate Women #2: Counseling or Coaching

Perhaps you have always enjoyed listening to your friends and family pour out their personal problems. They likely always come to you for advice or guidance when they need help. What’s more, you actually love seeing how your words of encouragement or wisdom help them. Have you ever considered becoming a counselor or life coach?

While becoming a licensed therapist will take you some years in college, life coaching can be done with or without certification. However, I do recommend obtaining some type of training or certification before you start. Potential clients will appreciate that you have learned from others who have actually done the job. This training gives you credibility and will also allow you to charge more for your services.

Counselling or coaching is something that you can do at your own pace and in your own way, often even developing your own style. It can be extremely challenging but just as rewarding. While it’s not for the faint of heart, you might find it a great match if you are a compassionate, patient woman

Career Choices for Compassionate Women #3: Social Work

Finally, if you want to put your caring nature toward helping those less fortunate, consider social work. Of course, there are many sectors of social work that do different things for different groups of people. For example, if you love children, you could start your career in child protection or adoption. However, I imagine this type of work is not easy and takes the most compassionate among us to do the work well.

Of course, these careers are only a few of many that would fulfill caring, compassionate women. The key is to deeply search your soul and decide what you want to do. If you are not happy at the job you have because you want to help others, start researching options for schooling or opportunities in your area. In the meantime, you could also do some volunteering to help in your community.
