If you own a business and want to sell more online, there are a few steps to stir things up a bit. Do keep in mind, however, the type of business you have, and how established it is, both play a role in your sales strategy. This is something you want to discuss with your team and business mentors. Your online success is also largely dependent on the presence you consistently have on your website and social media platforms. Here are a few ways to sell more online. 

Sell More Online #1: Show Off Customer Testimonials and Reviews

Potential consumers love reading about how good your products and services are. This is a non-biased way to share opinions that give real feedback (good or bad).  I also recommend commenting back to your customers no matter what they’ve said about your company. If you get a poor review, interact with that customer to see what you could have done better. This shows concern and the intent of action to improve how you serve your market. 

Sell More Online #2: Provide Multiple Payment Options 

Provide your customers and clients with as many payment options as you can. Additionally, make sure your website or eCommerce portal is in good working condition and easy to navigate. I love sites that offer payment options like debit cards, credit cards, PayPal, and even a pay later service. More people will buy and return when their purchase process has been easy and convenient. The more methods you offer, the more people will buy…simple. Believe it or not, some people won’t enter credit information online and opt only for buying platforms like PayPal.

Sell More Online #3: Offer a Money Back Guarantee

A money back guarantee gives your potential customers peace of mind. This is especially true if you sell things that normally would be tried out if purchased from a brick and mortar store. It also goes double for items that claim to have a certain benefit or value. Be firm about your return policy and guarantee, so your customers know what to expect. Return money quickly and serve your customers as well as you can after the return. Also, be consistent with your policies. In other words, don’t go and change your mind every other month. 

Sell More Online #4: Make the Checkout Process Simple

There’s nothing worse than a checkout process that requires complicated steps. Online shoppers want to get in and get out quickly, without any hassles. Furthermore, if it’s easy, you have a much better chance of keeping them on the site longer and selling more. I know I have abandoned many online carts because a site was slow or too difficult to navigate.
