Girl Friends are Life!

Some of the things I have learned from my girl friends — no matter what “they” say or what I think:

  • I can do it.
  • I am beautiful.
  • I have lots of friends who are on my side and will help me when I need it.
  • I am not alone.
  • I am not the only one with my particular problem.
  • There are always answers that I haven’t thought of on my own.

Girl friends help me to see the other side, alternatives, and ways to tackle the issue.  Personally I receive girl friends as precious gifts from God.  They have given me love, companionship, strength, confidence, peace, and joy!  (Not to mention the shoulder massages!) They let me vent because they know it will help me greatly to let it out.  I let them do the same with me and it enriches both of our lives. We laugh and cry together; we learn and grow stronger together.

From my GFs, I have learned how to relax, how to fight, and how to stand.  They have been God in human flesh to me!

My aunt is 86 years old and she could easily pass for 60 something.  I asked her one time how she did it.  Besides the obvious disciplines of good nutrition, exercise, and strong faith, she told me this:  “I have lots of girl friends and a few really close ones.  I do lunch with at least one of them every week and we discuss life.  We care for each other and check up on each other regularly.”  She is my inspiration on this and many other matters!

So go ahead, call that girl friend and make a date.  Laugh, cry, and share your frustrations and your dreams!  Both of you will be better from it!

About Kellie R. Stone

I believe that every woman has passions and dreams, waiting to be unlocked. With encouragement and support, they could grow into something tangible no matter how out there they seem to be. For me, one of those heart-fluttering passions has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, cultivate my dream of being a writer, I've written and/or edited 15+ years worth of articles here or on other blogs, published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and am working on a poetry anthology and another women's inner journey book. I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do it through the written word or other vibrant means. Kellie R. Stone
