Massage Your Way To A Slimmer Body

Though there are many ways to lose weight, it’s important to find what works for you. Some common and popular methods are exercise, diet, and supplements. This practice requires dietary restrictions, counting calories, and so on. And, of course, when you eat less than what you burn, you shed pounds. In addition to these staple weight loss methods, there are other things you can do to enhance your results. One is to massage your way to a slimmer body. Here are some tips for best results.

Benefits of Weight Loss Massage

  • Massage for weight loss improves blood circulation. When your body delivers more blood to the tissues and organs, you get rid of waste and toxins faster. Those waste materials create extra weight you do not need.
  • Weight loss massages also help you tone your muscles. A quality massage decreases the appearance of cellulite, tones your muscles, and gives your skin radiant glow.
  • Last, but not least, a massage helps you relieve stress. Eliminating stress is one of the biggest factors in weight loss. When you are stressed, your body releases cortisol, which causes you to store more fat. Additionally, when you are under stress, you can have cravings.
  • A good massage heals your body and gives you the energy you need for consistent exercise.

As you can see, weight loss massages help you to lose weight in a direct and indirect way. Keep in mind, there are 3 types of massages that are recommended to complement a weight loss program. These include aromatherapy massage (make sure to use the best massage oil you can), a lymphatic massage, and an abdominal massage.

Aromatherapy Massage

One of the main goals of an aromatherapy massage is to reduce your cravings for unhealthy foods. This happens when special essential oil blends create a peaceful and balanced state. Emotional eating is reduced and a normal diet can be followed more easily. After an aromatherapy massage, you can expect to sleep better as well.

Lymphatic Massage

Some of the benefits of a lymphatic massage include enhancing the immune system, increasing metabolism, and reducing toxic overload. Additionally, as with an aromatherapy massage, lymphatic massage also helps you relieve stress and anxiety.

Keep in mind that lymphatic drainage can cause some uncomfortable side effects at first. These include nausea, headache, and fatigue. Though this type of healing crises is common, it should not last for more than a few days. If you continue to use the practice, the negative side effects will diminish with each session.

For those of you who practice sports, a lymphatic massage is great for accelerating healing of injuries and muscle soreness. Again, this may cause some negative symptoms for a period right after. Do consult with your physician for recommended therapies prior to starting.

Abdominal Massage

Abdominal massage works in a similar way to lymphatic and aromatherapy massage, as it helps you get rid of toxins. It also boosts your metabolism by improving digestion. Abdominal massage stimulates your intestines to contract and move food more efficiently, therefore, food is in the digestive tract for a shorter period. This is beneficial for preventing toxic build up in the body.
