4 Common Allergies And Symptoms You Don’t Want To Ignore

An increasing number of people live with allergies daily. We live in a more polluted world, eat more processed food, and spend a lot of time indoors. If you have environmental sensitivity, food allergies, or a skin condition that is triggered by exposure to different chemicals or substances, it’s important to seek help. This is primarily to prevent complications that are worse and can have a life-changing impact. Remember to consult your physician about any symptoms that are new, unexplainable, or severe. Here are some common allergies you don’t want to ignore.

Allergies and Symptoms You Don’t Want To Ignore #1: Environmental Allergies

Environmental allergies can be nearly unnoticeable or they can wreak havoc on your life. Depending on what you’re dealing with, take the appropriate measures to prevent worsening symptoms. Your doctor or allergist should be able to prescribe medications and a protocol that suits your condition.

The main issue with not attending to environmental allergies, such as pollen, dust, pet hair, trees, and plants is that your quality of life may be affected. Additionally, these allergies can also become so bad that you miss work, social engagements, and other plans. They can also affect your eyesight, sense of smell and taste, as well as cause hearing loss if you leave your condition untreated.

Allergies and Symptoms You Don’t Want To Ignore #2: Skin Sensitivities and Rashes

There are different reasons people develop skin allergies and rashes. However, some common causes are metals, personal care products, cleaning products, fabrics, and other things that touch the skin. Additionally, food allergies can cause severe skin breakouts. I recommend discussing these symptoms with your doctor and create a plan to find out what is causing your problems. Skin or the prick test can help determine the exact allergies and their severity. Obviously, if you know something bothers you every time you use it, avoid that thing.

Allergies and Symptoms You Don’t Want To Ignore #3: Foods and Beverages

Food and drink allergies and intolerances can cause a laundry list of varying symptoms. These include skin problems, digestive disturbances, throat soreness and swelling, headaches, migraine, and many others that disrupt your life. If you give your body foods and drinks that it cannot handle or digest, it will reject these substances. Your symptoms will increase and could become life-threatening, in some cases. For example, untreated food allergies can result in leaky gut, and – in wore cases – Crohn’s’s Disease. I recommend keeping a food diary and take note of any adverse symptoms that arise.

Allergies and Symptoms You Don’t Want To Ignore #4: Sensitivity to Light

We use more artificial light than ever before. We stare at screens day in day out at the office and at home. As a result, many people suffer from sensitive, strained, and dry eyes. That said, these symptoms can also be caused by something else. That’s why you never want to ignore any changes you have in your eyesight and how they feel.

Eye symptoms are also one of those things that can be caused by varying allergic reactions. It could be environmental, food related, or products. Personally, I have recently acquired a great sensitivity to most cosmetics, especially eye makeup. This requires me to be acutely aware of everything that goes on and near my face. I do use eye drops to help minimize symptoms. Bottom line, it’s important to manage your vision and eye care consistently.
