4 Powerhouse Success Moves For Small Businesses

This post was a collaboration and may contain affiliate links. More and more women are taking the leap into business ownership. This is amazing news! The more strong women leaders that march forward with their ideas and innovations, the better our future looks. There are, however, roadblocks along the way to creating a strong, successful business for anyone.  I’ve compiled a short list and some tips that will help you navigate through the jungle that is biz ownership. Here are 4 powerhouse success moves for small businesses.

Powerhouse Success Moves For Small Businesses #1: Stay in Your Lane

When it comes to generating revenue, there is a sweet spot for everyone. The trick is knowing what and where it is. In my experience, it’s always best to “stay in your lane” by sticking to what you do best. Though I’m all for diversity in the market, when you first start a small business you have to brand yourself authentically. That means trusting your deep passions and presenting products and services that you feel good about. This is where you sit down and soul search for your bulls-eye plan and how you will implement it.

Powerhouse Success Moves For Small Businesses #2: Know Your Your Business

Even if you are the only employee in your company, you need to know the depth, width, and ceiling of your business. This gets even more complicated if you have a staff. Those people are counting on you to not only keep the business afloat but pay their salaries. Things like how much to pay people and what to charge customers are things you need to know. Businesses like Croner are there to help you make quality business decisions like this.

Make sure you keep up with industry and market trends to stay viable in the future. At the rate things change in business and online, you will need to stay flexible and sharp. It’s a good idea to take everything from advice to criticism from those who have done what you want to do. A successful business is mostly made of determination and the willingness to work your ass off to meet goals. This “knowing” that you are making the right choices will come with practice and experience.

Powerhouse Success Moves For Small Businesses #3: Hire Well

You are only as strong as your weakest link. Some owners precariously add to their business without really thinking about the consequences. They hire random, inexperienced employees that do nothing much more than warm seats. Keep your ears and eyes peeled for potential hires that can help you meet your business goals. One of the key elements of hiring well is knowing how to interview well. If you ask the right questions, you will get enough information to make a quality decision.

Powerhouse Success Moves For Small Businesses #4: Be 100% Yourself

Just as with your personal life, you should be as true to yourself as you can so you don’t get burned out and frustrated. Additionally, no one wants to work with or buy from someone who is fake and untrustworthy. Remain as relatable and personable as possible to your employees, vendors, and clients. Don’t get me wrong, you still have to be the boss but be one who earns respect.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
