3 Tips To Live The Future You Dream About

How can we see, with such clarity, the mistakes of our past when they are well behind us? Wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly what decisions promise a stellar outcome for our future? Yeah…well, unless you’re a really talented psychic, that is not likely to happen. That said, we can always learn from our mistakes and make better ones next time. That is what this article is about. So, without further ado, here are 3 tips to live the future you dream about.

Live The Future You Dream About #1: Save Money

It’s never too late to start saving! Even if you’ve been unable to save money in the past, you can start now. First of all, you need to know exactly how you currently spend your income. Create a spreadsheet so you can keep an easy record of your incoming and outgoing funds. Have columns for housing, food, travel, clothing, credit payments, and any other things on which you regularly spend money. After you have journaled your expenditures for 3 months, you can accurately see where you are leaking cash and where savings can be made.

Lifestyle Changes

Revisit your utility services providers and seek out cheaper alternative rates. Walk more and use public transportation to reduce fuel costs for your car. Eat out less or only have that latte twice a week instead of five. Batch cook food to save on groceries and waste. There are savings to be made everywhere, and once you start seeing a reduction in your spending, you’ll be motivated to carry on with saving.

Live The Future You Dream About #2: Get the Education You Want

Perhaps life’s events took you away from your educational goals. Maybe you just didn’t have the confidence that you could do it. Your reasons are personal to you, but the good news is, you can revisit your education in a way that fits with your other commitments. After all, you deserve to be the best you possible. I recommend that you know exactly what you want before you sign up. Your money and time are so precious that wasting any of it would not serve you.

Do Your Research

Check out these online Project and Program Management degree courses, or find other courses that may be of interest to you. There are so many options open to you. Don’t settle for anything less than you want at this point. By investing in your education, you are opening up new employment opportunities that will give you a great return on your investment. More salary equals more savings potential.

Live The Future You Dream About #3: Take Care of Your Health

As with saving money, it’s never too late to take care of your health. I’m not saying you have to change everything overnight, just start with baby steps if you have to. Think about where you can modify your behavior to increase activity. Take the stairs instead of the elevator at work. Buy less sugar-filled snacks for yourself and your family. Refer back to your budget spreadsheet, and see how many dollars a month you spend on things that may affect your health negatively. For example, you could reduce your alcohol intake and only indulge at the weekends. And, of course, try to kick your nicotine habit to the curb.
