Welcome to Women’s Life Link and our New You in 31 Days Challenge. We have a new contributor! Christina Taylor is another dear one from down under. She has a special story to share with us about her challenges and victories within her experience with Depression. She will be sharing some of her poetry that is featured in her book, A Woman’s Courage.

What is it like to live with depression? To feel you are in a black hole with no way to escape? Christina Taylor presents an honest account of what it was like for her, keeping a smile on her face for the benefit of the outside world, as she battled daily with conflicting and abnormal emotions and behaviours. Finally, no longer able to keep up the facade, she attempted suicide. Depression, once a taboo subject, is now a recognized and treatable mental illness. For anyone living with depression or living with someone else who is suffering from depression this is an invaluable insight into the world of the ‘black hole.’

You can check out her bio and more about her book on the Contributor Page! Please welcome her with some comment love. I’m sure she would love to hear if any of you have experienced depression and, if so, how you handle challenges, what has worked for you, and what hasn’t. Be YOU!

A Woman’s Courage- Poem from Page 30

Book-cover-HIGH-RES4Used to walk in the dark,
To escape a disastrous
Reality.
Now the dark is the only
Reality I know,
Turning my key in the door,
Makes my shining lights,
Full moon, my reality,
Disappear into a black
Hole of Patheticness.
Only when he is there,
I shall not give in.
I have to conquer
My fears…

Poem from Page 17

I will run away,
Far away,
Leaving shit behind me,
When you least expect it.
It will be the day that I break your heart,
As much as you have broken mine.
A new start.
A new life.
And the sun will still rise,
Only I will feel love again,
In my empty black heart.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
