3 Fulfilling Career Additions Women Should Consider

In the modern age, women have a myriad of opportunities available to pursue. So, why is it that so many women struggle with making life and career choices that fulfill them? Good question…now, let’s move forward and find some answers. First, each one of us has the responsibility to be true to ourselves. That means we may have to leave a lucrative job for something we are passionate about. On the other hand, perhaps you need and want to make more money. I ask myself questions about my work and life on a regular basis to really know what will fulfill me. I recommend that all women practice this type of soul-searching. It may be that all you need is to supplement your existing career with something different or new. Here are some suggestions to get you thinking… a few fulfilling career additions women should consider.

Fulfilling Career Additions Women Should Consider #1: Learn Something New Like Technology

The tech industry has exploded in recent years, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. However, technology is frequently seen as a boys-club where women are looked down on purely because they are women. All of this is changing though. Scores of women have bucked the trend and are redefining the technology landscape.

Many STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) classrooms are now filled with just as many women as men. Simply adding skills or this type of education to your present knowledge could bring new and exciting opportunity and challenge your way.

Fulfilling Career Additions Women Should Consider #2: Be A Role Model or Mentor

You might be thinking that being a role model or mentor isn’t really a career. Well, it isn’t really, but hear me out. Everyone needs a role model or mentor. I’m pretty confident that most of you have had one or more in the past. No matter what you do for a living, you have a broad opportunity to affect other young women and girls. Representing women in business and society helps shift empowerment our way. This means more serious attention, money, and future opportunities for our daughters and granddaughters.

This shift in your life could be the very thing that gets your passion going. And, it just might fulfill you enough that any boredom in your career won’t seem so significant. I recommend starting with who you know now and are closest to. Chances are, you may already be positively affecting one or many young women or girls. If you have always wanted to teach, consider pursuing an online Masters Education degree.

Fulfilling Career Additions Women Should Consider #3: Do All Things with Passion

Deciding to abandon your career completely to pursue your passions is risky. Furthermore, this might even be seemingly impossible for some women who are the sole breadwinners of their family. No matter what the situation is, however, you can always give yourself a “passion” checkup. Yes, actually consider your state of mind concerning how much you enjoy all that you do. If there is no passion in your life, ask yourself why. Then, think about how you can stir it up.

You won’t look back in twenty years and remember how many spreadsheets you laid out. And you won’t even consider what numbers were on your paychecks. You will, however, remember times when you loved your job and fulfilled a dream or two. So, no matter what you do now, do it with passion and make changes that fulfill you.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
