8 Natural Effective Pain Remedies

The body is naturally able to heal itself time-and-time again, however, on that journey, many people suffer from chronic pain. I have been one of them. It doesn’t mean you are broken. You may just need more time to mend or need something different. The one thing I don’t want you to do is to think that popping pills for the rest of your life is your only option. Chronic pain comes in all shapes and sizes, so understand that no two situations are the same. I recommend consulting your physician before you do anything. With good advice comes a time of research and trial and error. Give the following natural effective pain remedies at least a thought on your healing journey.

The Shift To Natural

Over the years, doctors have increasingly recommended treatments that aren’t just pharmaceutical. This is primarily due to the enormous set backs caused by the drugs. And some offer little to no relief at best.   Natural pain relief alternatives are proving effective for many patients.

Acupuncture, yoga and even hypnosis are being recommended as pain relief alternatives, and they don’t just help the small aches. Everything from fibromyalgia to tooth aches have been cited as improving with natural pain relief. Of course, your first port of call should always be to see a doctor if you suspect something is wrong or find an emergency dentist near you for help when experiencing chronic toothache! There are actually some natural dentists out there as well.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #1: Massage

There is so much more to massage than just a relaxing experience. Whether you are suffering from chronic back pain, arthritis or a long-term condition that causes pain, massage helps.  Read here about the hormones that are released during a massage and how they can reduce your stress levels. One of the biggest merits of physiotherapy is the deep tissue stimulation that a patient receives.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #2: CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy)

CBT techniques have long been heralded as effective help for patients who need talk therapy. There is a strong mind and body connection and, while you may not be able to think yourself cured, you can change your lifestyle and your stress levels. Stress often exacerbates pain, so managing or decreasing it will ultimately create greater health.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #3: Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient practice that corrects and balances energies through the body. Much research and study has been done on acupuncture and, while there isn’t a firm scientific study to prove it will cure your pain, there are plenty of articles like this that hail the practice as a life-changer.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #4: Yoga

Exercise has always been recommended for those who have long-term pain, as exercise releases endorphins and other hormones that relax your body. Yoga is practiced worldwide and is known for its relaxation and mind clearing attributes. The flexibility the body can achieve with yoga aids range of motion and fluidity. Yoga is also one of the most praised techniques for lessening or ending lower back pain.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #5: Hypnosis

There’s a lot to be said for the power of the mind. Therapies that help the patient “think” something different like hypnosis have been used for centuries. It’s also a formidable remedy for chronic pain, as it helps your body to focus on healing itself. Creating positive mind/body changes is important and can help you manage pain.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #6: Meditation

Even the simplest of breathing exercises can make a big difference to pain levels when you consider the practice of meditation. Solid focus on your breathing can help to encourage more oxygen around the body and force your body into a relaxed state. This process has a positive effect on chronic pain and can be duplicated anytime.  Websites like this one can help you to understand how to meditate effectively to manage chronic pain.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #7: Tai Chi

Similarly to the way yoga works, tai chi is a gentle mind/body practice that initiates relaxation and well-being. Furthermore, it may be more doable for some patients who simply can’t do most yoga poses. More common among the older community, the slow and deliberate movements can help to release natural pain-killing hormones.

Natural Effective Pain Remedies #8: Herbal Aids

Whenever you plan to take a supplement, whether herbal or not, do always consult a doctor first. That said, supplements like omega-3 fish oils, turmeric, and vitamin D are all considered helpful for those with chronic pain. Do some research to find what particular supplements will help your type of pain. These can also help your overall health as well.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
