After learning that my father had been hospitalized with blocked arteries, I realized how fortunate that I am to have him in my life. It’s not that I haven’t realized it before, it’s just when you suddenly get news like that, you take inventory…at least I do.
Have you ever wondered what opportunities and relationships you’ve missed out on because you were too afraid to put yourself out there? This happens so often when our minds become overly occupied by our failures, disappointments, and even our negative thoughts about who we are and what our abilities are.
Today, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported Women’s Life Link and made it such a fabulous community. I’m so fortunate to have met so many beautiful women since we launched nearly a year ago.
I know for some, avoiding knowledge about their health condition, weight, and fitness level is a common practice. I think it’s one of those “what you don’t know won’t hurt you” things.
Acknowledging even the smallest of gestures sent forth into our experience is one of the most satisfying things you can do. We’ve all heard the saying “stop and smell the roses.”
Do you remember the last time you really knocked your own socks off with a feat of your personal best? The pride that fills your heart; the praise you get from others; the sudden feeling that you have made your mark on the world all melt into your experience like the best hot fudge you’ve ever tasted.
As we approach the final days of the year, I want to remind you ladies to be thankful for your blessings. After all, we have warm homes, beds, friends, family, food on our tables, and clean water flowing from our faucets.
A woman’s day is filled with opportunities. We give, receive, love, hate; we choose in which direction our lives go; we seek truth or we settle for less. It’s up to us to find true joy and fulfillment.
This week has been one of soul-searching and self-examination…no, not the breast kind. I’ve been seeking to understand myself in a greater way- the inside person who drives the bus, so to speak. It’s not all glory and gum drops you see. It’s been a tough journey of realizing that I have a ton of work to do.
While watching the bank clerk counting the change (pennies included), I had a wave of gratefulness wash over me. Gratefulness for the patients who are helping me stay in practice. Gratefulness for patients like the one lady who only makes $15,000 a year, yet she wrote me a check for $200 because her insurance did not cover her visits to see me.
