Most women, whether young or old, have at least one hobby. That little activity that allows her to escape from the stresses of life. It also puts her back in touch with her creative side. I've had so many hobbies over the years, it's hard to remember them all. And, yes, I have made money with some of them. For me, it was simply fun to create things that people actually wanted to buy. For others, it's all about living the dream of supporting themselves by doing something that doesn't feel like work. Either way, here are my top 3 tips to turn your hobby into cash.

Are you a creative badass who loves to innovate, express herself, and make money doing what you love? If you are not currently stimulating any of these inner longings, you might take a look at a creative career. However, many creative women are also multi-talented and find choosing just one thing difficult. Here is a list of 9 careers to keep the creative happy!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." This is not to say that following in the footsteps of others will not lead you to understand your true purpose and set you up for success there but to also consider choosing new and unexplored paths, to take risks and make mistakes. This process can be terrifying, though, as venturing out on your own into new things may cause anxiety and hesitation. You may even consider these feelings as signs that you aren't on the right path. I've experienced this fork in the road many times and assure you that it's not the end but only the beginning of something magical and fulfilling.

I’ve said it before – I’ll say it again. This is one of the best ‘things’ about my hobby – meeting and interviewing all these absolutely amazing people around the world. Pictures of pure inspiration – women (and men) who seemingly have it all – but only through their own effort and determination – leaving their ‘comfort zones’ etc. And our own amazing founder and administrator, Kellie R. Stone, is one such lady. Dynamic – inspiration personified, down to earth and just a darned nice person.

I thought about how our lives can get lackluster and boring if we don’t express our true selves. What if we could just “decorate” our lives like we do our homes for the holidays? I believe it’s possible. The key is discovering your unique style of self-expression.

What I mean is.... there are MANY things in life that we look at. We have looked at them so much, it becomes second nature to ignore them. For instance: The clouds... We know they are there most days so we do not take in the different shapes that could be talking to us. A dragon, an angel, a dog chasing a mouse. Yes, you read it correctly. A dog. Clouds don't care! Then you have the vast array of stars you may have glanced at a few weeks or months ago, but with all your business, you have been looking forward and not very often up. I looked up last night and found thousands and thousands of diamonds crying out for attention! I just stared in wonder at the beauty of them all. Big dipper, little dipper. Orion's belt. The North Star. We looked for them as kids. Have you looked at how big the moon is? With our naked eye, so many things are seen but not admired even though we may have admired them a lot.

How many times have we not paid attention to the beauty right in front of us? We go searching for beauty in magazines and in nature and in our experiences...But what are the simply beautiful things that we should take notice of all around us?

This is how each of us live. Connected. We are wired to people and things throughout our lives. Some of the people we are connected to are good company to keep, best friends, family... You know, the people that you can count on. Some of those to whom we are wired can add extra stress to an already stressful life. They do not make us happy or point us in the direction of following our dreams. We are also connected to things like jobs, contacts (acquaintances), favorite sports and hobbies, cars, houses, televisions... the things we feel benefit us in our everyday walk through this time we have on earth.

Have you ever been shopping for a specific item like a formal dress or pair of shoes? Well, sure you have. And, while on that shopping trip, did you tend to get really distracted by all the new seasonal fashions and trends. Suddenly, your purposeful trip to the mall gets derailed...at least for a few minutes while you rush to the dressing room to try on that cute top you just couldn't resist scooping up into your arms. After all, it's so much fun to indulge in things that don't have rhyme or reason, huh? And though I have my fair share of these carefree occasions, I want to use this scenario to explain how living your life like this regularly can literally derail your train to authentic purpose.
