    Why Do Women Get Stuck?

    Why Do Women Get Stuck?

You know that horrible feeling you get when your car slides into a muddy ditch or snow mound? Desperate. Helpless. Stuck. This is something that usually happens to everyone…at least once in their life. It usually takes a little help to get unstuck. Well, the muddy or icy hell hole you drove into is really just a metaphor for what could be happening in your life. Women are especially vulnerable to the “ditches” and “snow mounds” that seem to pull us in from time-to-time. Why does this life-hindering thing happen? Though vehicular mishaps usually just sort of happen, life traps grip us as a result of our own thoughts, beliefs, and actions.

    How Emotions Affect Creativity

    How Emotions Affect Creativity

Do you ever sit in a inoperable slump, waiting for your foul mood to pass, or for something good to happen to change things? I have. And, while in a state of self-pity and emotional compromise, my creativity has been stifled. Yes, nil, zip, zilch…it was in those times when I tended to focus on what I didn’t want, instead of what I did. It was like a steel trap, in the sense that I struggled to escape. Well, at least for those moments.

Releasing Creativity…In a Really Fun Way

Releasing Creativity…In a Really Fun Way

I’m always on the look out for ingenious ideas to help release creativity. One trend I’ve noticed lately involves groups of people getting together at a local bar, restaurant or designated studio to explore a specific creative medium. There is one in Indianapolis called Wine & Canvas.

6 Things Creative Women Do To Change The World

6 Things Creative Women Do To Change The World

Most of you know me as a believer that everyone is “creative” in one way or another; however, be that as it may, there are some things active “creatives” do on a regular basis that set them apart. I’m talking about those who want to change the world, that is. These six habits cause those moments of inspiration that drive us to actually create without reserve and without worry, to bring beauty to our world.

    The Blame Game

    The Blame Game

Did you ever wonder why bad things happen to good people? And, do you always blame either God or the devil for those misfortunes? How about considering the alternative? Maybe we create our own drama and unserving dilemmas. I mean, come on, to blame the devil for breaking my toe, when I was foolishly walking through a dark room in the middle of the night to sneak some chocolate cake. Really?

    Does Life Coaching Really Work?

    Does Life Coaching Really Work?

You might think there are better things a life coach should be doing then writing about why coaching doesn’t work for the majority of those who try it. Well, I had an epiphany, really…a life-changing one. That is, it will change my life as well as yours, if you dare to pay attention and follow through with my intuition on the subject. So, here I go out on that really thin, shaky limb…

Be An Artist Of The Soul

Be An Artist Of The Soul

Creating the life you desire is in itself a true miracle. Understand, I don’t say this lightly. It’s not that obtaining real, lasting happiness is as sparsely experienced as we think miracles are these days. On the contrary, it’s time to start thinking about what miracles really are and how often we dismiss the possibility of seeing them in our own lives.

Stay Out Of The Blog Graveyard

Stay Out Of The Blog Graveyard

Blogging can be a lonely way to spend your time. On the other hand, it can be rewarding and bring lots of new acquaintances (even friends) your way. I’ve been doing this blogging thing for well over two years now and have noticed something: Blog life is very short for some. I often catch myself thinking, where did that blog go or I wonder what made her stop writing. And, you know what, I really miss some of the blogs that are nowhere to be found.

    How To Jumpstart Creativity

    How To Jumpstart Creativity

Being creative isn’t something that anyone should take for granted. It’s one of those if-you-don’t-use-it-you’ll-lose-it things. Well, sort of. You won’t ever lose natural talents and gifts; those are there to stay. I’m talking about keeping up the momentum and desire to create. Avoiding diving into projects and hobbies, or even work-related creative efforts, can hinder positive emotions and self-growth, especially if you are what I call a “creative soul”. Here’s why:

Mother’s Day Is Begging For Some Creativity

Mother’s Day Is Begging For Some Creativity

Hi precious ladies! I was thinking about past Mother’s Days, and really am floored by how much repetition there is with the gifts, the going out to dinner, and cards. Though I’m happy to unwrap anything with my name on it, I’ve often wondered why consumers get stuck in the “what’s expected” rut when it comes to holiday shopping. I mean, why do moms always get flowers on MD…why not a gift-certificate for rock-climbing or for a tattoo? And, what’s up with the traditional MD card that is way over-the-top in it’s description of a mom who doesn’t exist…on this planet anyway! If I could live up to just one of those “You are the best mom in the world” statements, I would have a much better self-esteem, and maybe even write a book or something.

Five Creative Lessons Learned From Children

Five Creative Lessons Learned From Children

Watching a child play, learn, and just be free is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. And not just for the entertainment value but for the lessons you can glean from his/her unhindered actions. I know as a mom it’s sometimes difficult to find time to be still and soak up these profound events, but when I do, it’s SO worth it! I’ve compiled some thoughts about how watching and understanding the child’s heart can move us into higher levels of our own creativity.

  • Out Of Your Mind Creativity

    Out Of Your Mind Creativity

Creative thought does not live in the ordinary or in any box, for that matter, but it thrives in an infinite world with no boundaries, no sharp edges, and no boring waiting rooms.

Getting outside the “box”, out of “your mind” is simple but not always easy.

    Chicka Chicka Kicked My Butt!

    Chicka Chicka Kicked My Butt!

As a woman it’s sometimes difficult to devote time and evergy to self-improvement, let alone spare any to have fun. I’m sure some of you can relate to this self-denial, as kids, spouse, job(s), the house, school, and simply keeping up with life often take most of our energy. Does it really have to be this way?
