Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone

Celebrity Bikini Shots: Inspiration or Hype?

It seems that Valerie Bertinelli has started a Hollywood trend of posing in a bikini on a national magazine cover after losing weight. This morning, there she was on the net, Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) with a full body photo of her newly sculpted figure on the cover of People magazine. Though others have bared their famous bods for the press, (remember Demi Moore?) I don't remember the impact being quite the same in their celebrity world or on our ordinary woman and mom planet.

Visualization

Visualization is such a simple, yet often overlooked technique. I have studied and believed in it for quite some time now. What I am referring to is the ability to visualize something (see it with the eye of the mind and spirit) and have it change the way things are to the way they should be.

The Best Interview Strategies: Part II

By this time most of you should be familiar with technology and its benefits, at least enough to type a resume and send an email. But regardless of how advanced modern job hunting can get, I still think it's smart to have good-old-fashioned copies of your resume. Start with a formatted version in a Word program; keep it simple and clean.

Ten Facts About Calcium

Fact #1 - You need it for much more than building strong bones and teeth, including for blood clotting, the transmission of nerve impulses, and the regulation of the heart's rhythm. Fact #2 - Calcium is the most abundant mineral in our bodies; women carry about 2 1/2 pounds worth. The chalky substance found in rocks is mostly carried in our bones and teeth (about 99%). Your muscles, soft tissues, and body fluids carry the rest.

Fashion Dos and Don’ts

1. Don't wear flip-flops or mules when it's raining; the flipping motion of the shoes will splatter the backs of your legs with water and whatever else in which you step. I never did this again after ruining a good pair of white pants. 2. Don't sweat the little out-of-place hairs. Today's natural-looking trends not only permit but even encourage styles that are not perfect. It's okay to be a little un-done.

Planning For an Emergency

After spending 12 hours without power last night, I suddenly realized how unprepared our family is for emergency situations. It wasn't the fact that I missed the American Idol elimination I'd been waiting all season for; it was the fact that we couldn't find the flashlight, my kids couldn't light candles without burning themselves, and everyone just sort of lost all composure. Kudos to our pioneer ancestors who didn't even have electricity.
