It occurred to me that we may be damaging one of the most precious things we have…our eyes. With daily use of eye shadow, mascara, liner, and eye makeup removers, are we polluting our eyes with substances that could be stripping away our eyesight?
During this financial hardship that most of us have been affected by, I’ve come to know that thrifty beauty is the new thing (or the necessity). Though I’m no cosmetic snob, I do occasionally enjoy a shopping trip to major department store beauty departments and afternoons at the spa.
For some women (even me) changing their look can be a scary thing. We get comfortable with what we see in the mirror and assume that others feel the same way when they look at us. So, why should we change? For me it’s about being creative and allowing self-expression. Your reason may be something completely different.
1. Don’t wear flip-flops or mules when it’s raining; the flipping motion of the shoes will splatter the backs of your legs with water and whatever else in which you step. I never did this again after ruining a good pair of white pants.
2. Don’t sweat the little out-of-place hairs. Today’s natural-looking trends not only permit but even encourage styles that are not perfect. It’s okay to be a little un-done.
1. Do own one timeless dress.
2. Don’t think layering is just for winter; this fashion key is hip all year long.
3. Don’t ever wear anything that could pass for country curtains or a bedspread.

1. Don’t ever, ever wear a flannel, granny nightgown to bed. Don’t do it even if you are a granny.
2. Do let your significan’t other see you in lingerie that flatters your body.

Whether you work, stay at home, work at home, or none of the above, you need to take care of yourself. There are certain simple things you can do that will make a HUGE difference in your daily appearance. We will focus on those first.
